I grew up in Hamilton, AL where I attended school and graduated from Hamilton High School in 1997 – I even played for the Hamilton Aggies football and baseball team.
I worked for an agency as a CSR after which I became an agent in 2004 and worked as same until about 2014. I had a short stint as a contractor for an insurance adjusting company out of Mobile, AL covering the northwest part of Alabama. I then came back to work for the Jay Grogan Insurance Agency. I get excited to know I can help the people in my community get the best coverages at the best price to protect their hard-earned assets.
A fun fact about me is that I’m an animal lover. I have dogs but I can’t stand to see ANY animal suffer and will do anything to help it if possible. I really enjoy doing things for others. Helping out with whatever needs to be done at my parent’s or my grandmother’s house.
I was born in Florence, Alabama and my family moved to Hamilton when I was 5 years old where I attended Hamilton Elementary and graduated from Hamilton High School in 1973. I am a graduate of The University Of Alabama with a degree in Business Administration.
My experience in the insurance industry began in 1982 when I was a Nationwide Agency up until I sold my agency to The Grogan Agency in November of 2018. My favorite part about my job is getting to know my clients and making sure that all of their insurance needs are taken care of.
Personally, I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, and grandchildren. When the weather is nice out, you can find me spending time at the lake and practicing my water ski skills. Also, I am passionate about serving in political and civic organizations. I serve on local civic boards for our Chamber of Commerce, Industrial Development Board, Kiwanis and serve as Chairman of our counties Republican Party as well as Chairman of the 4th Congressional District of The Alabama Republican Party.
I grew up in Pinson but moved to Oneonta, AL when I got married in 2022. I have previous work experience as a legal assistant for employment litigation attorneys, which gives me a good foundation to start working in commercial insurance. It excites me that every day I come to work, I have a new challenge to tackle. I enjoy being able to help people assess their specific needs and find a product that fits their situation.
In my personal life, I enjoy winding down with a puzzle, a book, or a video game. I also enjoy a walk outdoors or a trip to the mountains! I played the flute and piccolo in high school, and I still own them and play on occasion. I also have a few other musical instruments that I dabble in. Usually, my husband, Chandler, and I spend our weekends at home with our German Shepherd, Odin, and hanging out with friends and family.
