Alabama is the fifth poorest state in the U.S., with 16.8% of Alabamians living below the federal poverty threshold. We see these alarming numbers and know that our friends, neighbors, and fellow Alabamians need help.
In 2012, Michael Coleman, a retired Army veteran of 21 years and former pastor, founded Hope Inspired Ministries (HIM) at a time when he was disappointed with how generational poverty was being handled in his community. He soon invested what he had into creating HIM. His radical approach contrasted that of the institutional band-aid approach taken by others. HIM was born “to train low-skilled, poorly educated, and/or chronically unemployed men and women to obtain and maintain employment.”
The Grogan Agency is fully committed to fighting the good fight against poverty in our backyard. A lifetime of poverty leads to hopelessness and despair. We hope to contribute to ending this vicious cycle. Our agency is proud to support the efforts of HIM and its mission of serving ” those who are chronically unemployed by preparing and equipping them to obtain, maintain, and excel at employment.” Meeting people where they are and most importantly without judgment is crucial to HIM’s success. Their methods have proven effective as they have grown every year since their founding. Alongside their efforts, our agency hopes to dramatically impact the most marginalized men and women of our community by providing them the resources, tools, and training to self-supporting, productive citizens.
We are committed to raising awareness in our community and giving our customers, partners, and anybody else that cares the ability to make an impact themselves. We will donate $20 on your behalf to our Current Community Cause campaign for every person you recommend to us.
